Rain Horse

This soft sculpture was created by Peter Ray James. He takes canvas, sews it together, stuffs it with fiberfill, paints it adding Native symbolism to it. In this way he is telling a story with each piece in addition to decorating it. To the uneducated in Native history, they are beautiful, but to those who understand the symbolism, they each have a unique story to tell. The rain clouds are prominent on the rear of this horse along with dragonflies which are symbols of hope as dragonflies will always lead one to water. There are numerous other symbols on this decorative horse. The piece is approximately 11.5 by 12 inches.
