Quail with baby

This piece was crafted by Peter Ray James. He takes canvas, sews it together, stuffs it with fiberfill, paints it adding Native symbolism to it. In this way he is telling a story with each piece in addition to decorating it. To the uneducated in Native history, they are beautiful, but to those who understand the symbolism, they each have a unique story to tell. This one is a mother quail with a baby. They both have mountains depicted on them with layers to represent generations ascending to the Creator. This piece measures approximately 12 by 13 inches.
