Helping Horse

This horse was created by Peter Ray James. He takes canvas, sews it together, stuffs it with fiberfill, paints it adding Native symbolism to it. In this way he is telling a story with each piece in addition to decorating it. To the uneducated in Native history, they are beautiful, but to those who understand the symbolism, they each have a unique story to tell. The handprints are a symbol of humanity and helping. The piece is approximately 11 by 15 inches.
